Indian Arrows or Pailan Arrows is the latest project revived in I League by AIFF. Arrows project is a team of countries youngest talent forming a team called Arrows. Pailan Arrows will compete in top tier league. Indian Arrows have not announced the squad yet.
Pailan Arrows team was called off in August 2013 due to financial problems. Since last few months management was mulling to revive the Arrows. AIFF management liked the idea and it was sent to higher authorities for approval. Now team Arrows will start its career again in I League 2017-18.
Arrows team will be based on youngest players in the country. The team will be based on BEST PLAYERS from Indian under 17 and Indian under 19’s team. The format will be strongly effective to prepare the team for upcoming under 20 FIFA world cup. Still, the squad for I League is not announced by the management. As soon as squad revealed for the top-tier league we will update.
Arrows Home Ground:
The team will play matches in Delhi. Home ground matches will be played form Delhi. Players are Going to be Hired for 2 years contract. And AIFF will include new talent step by step in the team. Arrows is the Newest team in I League teams.
AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das said, “We presented this plan to the technical committee who were impressed with the proposal. Now we will forward it to the President (Praful Patel) for his discretion.”
Coach and Management:
Indian Arrows will start with season with Coach LUIS NORTON. Football Federation is interested to extend the contract of Luis Norton. He will be leading the team from management side as well.
The motive behind reviving this project was to establish a good relationship between best talent from Under 19 team and youngest talent of the country from the Under 17 team. They will stick together for a long time and will perform great for future programs. This Project will help to compile the best team for the FIFA U19 world cup.
Arrows project was launched in the 2010-11 season from Delhi. it was started because the young talent of the country was struggling to get playing time and to prepare themselves for the international events. The team shifted to Kolkatta for second and third season. Pailan group was the investor behind that project but soon after in 2013 project was also called off due to financial issues from Pailan group.
